Dear Friends,

This week’s election gave me the opportunity to get out and support a number of County Board candidates. Election results included the failure of a referendum to fund the financially strapped Wisconsin Heights School District. The rejection of funding stresses the need for the legislature to revisit education funding. Our youth will best succeed if we fully support educational opportunities.

Dear Friends,

Busy week on the campaign trail. I’m pretty sure that I passed myself at least once as I zig-zagged back and forth across the district. This last week I attended two different County Board forums; visited with other Democrats at the Party’s Howard Dean event; participated in a Wisconsin Heights School District referendum forum; spoke to a gathering of south-central Wisconsin labor leaders; and still managed to enjoy a quiet Easter with the family.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day from Justin, Melissa, Devin, Bailey, and Keanan!

Dear Friends,

Call for volunteers!

I need some volunteers for a couple of data entry tasks and for a few other projects. Great fun! A number of people have asked how they can help, I need you now! Email or call me to get details.

I campaigned door-to-door in Madison and Mazomanie this past weekend. A lot of neighbors were spending time outside enjoying the sun and spring-like warmth. I had a great time meeting people.

Dear Friends,

APRIL 17th – Save the Date! April 17 is the date that Susan Steingass, Mary Berryman-Agard, and others will be hosting a fundraiser for me at Bunky’s Restaurant in Madison.

This Week:

At work, much of this week was focused on the final chapter of this legislative session. Progressive Senate Democrats are fighting for a number of important issues in the final days. The security of reproductive freedom; the opportunity to have a quality education; and tax fairness are some of our central themes found in legislative proposals moving at the end of session.

In the evenings I attended a variety of events including a fundraiser for Judge Lisa Neubauer, an event for Congressman Steve Kagen, a Democracy For Wisconsin presentation on Diebold voting machines, and a city-wide neighborhood roundtable.

A number of you have promised to walk door to door with me. Well, the weather looks to be getting better…. I’m out there and would love the company. You’ll need comfortable shoes to keep up with me!

Justin
