Hot News – October 21st will be our first fundraiser!

Progressive Women and Democrats from Madison and across Wisconsin will be hosting this fundraiser to raise the money to help elect me to State Assembly. The campaign committee is actively seeking sponsors to donate $250 and hosts to donate $100 to help make this event a success. Invitations are being designed and we would like to put your name on them! They will be mailed out by October 8th. So please let us know if you’re interested in helping out.

About the week of October 1st, 2007

This week presented some tough choices for scheduling. I was invited to attend two big events on Wednesday. Senator Mark Miller had a fundraiser that was attended by friends and notables alike. Competing with that I was also invited to a cookout with a number of unions and their members from Southern Wisconsin. As they were recognizing my work for Wisconsin families and working people, I chose the cookout.

Thursday you may have seen me on TV. I attended a round table on the future of education in the Madison area. I attended as a father and not as a candidate. Melissa and I are both very concerned about the public education system. We both grew up in Madison and believe that our schools should be as safe as when we were growing up and that children today should have quality educational opportunities to help them succeed.

Friday I attended a nice event held at the Worzala residence. Lots of good people, amazing food, and a warm, genuine hospitality. Special thanks to Julie for making me feel so welcome. Julie and I shared stories of fighting for reproductive rights in years past. In particular I shared some of my experiences working with Senator Robson to stop the ultra-right’s attack on the Family Planning Waiver. The Waiver is a program that has saved the lives and health of countless Wisconsin women, a vital program we hope to expand.
