REMINDER! Come and join us Thursday, April 24th, for cake and fun – We are planning a family fun gathering at the Northside Benvenutos Restaurant/Bar, located in the Northgate shopping center, 1849 Northport Dr. We will have birthday cake from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. Spread the word on this one, the email was held up and some may not have gotten the word.
Week in Brief:
This past week I did fewer events and more doors. I did manage to join friends and neighbors at the Lake View Hill Earth Day cleanup. I also attended a neighborhood meeting and a professional association gathering. Over the weekend we visited door-to-door for hours, completing another community within the District.
The Details:
Our family celebrated Earth Day by joining in local clean-up efforts at Lake View Hill. This is a wonderful park area, saved by neighborhood residents from sale and development. The woods are in great shape thanks to the efforts of many! For a time during the clean-up I was in a fun, but competitive, contest with County Supervisor Dorothy Wheeler to see who could get the most rubbish collected. I’m pretty certain she won the contest.
I continue to do numerous outreach meetings after work every week. Remember if you see something of interest in the District, don’t assume that I have it on my schedule. I’m always looking for additional opportunities to listen to the concerns of my friends and neighbors. I’ve had a number of people ask about events that my emails don’t review or mention. Unfortunately I simply don’t have time to do justice to all of the events I attend or grassroots efforts I undertake.
Quote of the week: “So what are you?” asked an 80+ year old fellow, I met this last weekend. “I’m a Democrat,” I responded. “Well, then you can stay a bit, I won’t chase you off.” I stayed a bit.

May 18th – Northside Supporters Jeanette Paulson, Dayna Dalton, and Gayle Ihlenfeld are planning an event for our campaign the afternoon of May 18th. Very kid friendly event!
June 8th – Conservation leaders and outdoor enthusiasts from the 81st Assembly District and across Wisconsin will be hosting a fundraising event for me at Rex’s Innkeeper in Waunakee.
